  • 1949

    CREATION OF EFFBE

    In 1949, Fritz Brumme, an engineer at Opel, founded EFFBE in Frankfurt, Germany. A year later, he invented, developed and successfully manufactured the first synthetic elastomer diaphragms, which increased the life of fuel pumps by a factor of twenty. By developing and perfecting new materials, EFFBE is rapidly extending its expertise in fields as demanding as gas, the water sector, pneumatic systems, aeronautics, etc

  • 1967

    CREATION OF EFFBE FRANCE

    After 2 decades of development, EFFBE set up its first facility outside Germany in Habsheim, drawing on the strengths of Alsace: exchanges facilitated by bilingualism, strong skills in chemicals, textiles and mechanics specific to the Mulhouse region, and a rich industrial base, particularly in the automotive sector.

    INTEGRATION OF GAMMA INTO THE EFFBE FRANCE GROUP

    The PCC (Produit Caoutchouc du Centre) company developed the first flexion-friction dampers, exploiting the intrinsic properties of elastomers. GAMMA was created by PCC to serve its customers in the aerospace and defence sectors. GAMMA’s new head office is in the immediate vicinity of its DASSAULT and THOMSON customers. In 1982, Reinhold Brumme, son of EFFBE’s founder and head of BARRY Control in Germany, acquired GAMMA, which he developed before selling the business to EFFBE France in 1994.

    CREATION OF EFFBE CZECH REPUBLIC

    EFFBE is taking a new step forward with the creation of its Zlin plant, the elastomer capital of Eastern Europe, with its skilled workers and engineers and a university that has been recognised for decades for its expertise in the field of elastomers. In this context, EFFBE is stepping up its development of elastomer and fabric-reinforced diaphragms.

  • 2000

    EFFBE JOINS THE WOCO GROUP

    EFFBE joins the German family group WOCO, with its 5,500 employees and 22 production facilities around the world. WOCO is a leading specialist in parts for the automotive sector. It is a Tier 1 supplier to the world’s leading carmakers.

  • 2019

    MERGER BETWEEN EFFBE FRANCE AND GAMMA

    After increasing its production capacity by starting up a unit at EFFBE’s Alsace in 2018, EFFBE and GAMMA merged the following year. As a result, they created a single entity, EFFBE and GAMMA, leaders in their original businesses.

  • 2021

    GAMMA TRANSFER AND INTEGRATION

    The EFFBE France facility incorporates the manufacture of components dedicated to the GAMMA aeronautics and aerospace industries. Benefiting from new technical and commercial synergies, this integration now provides operational solutions specifically tailored to the needs of EFFBE or GAMMA customers, both in the field of diaphragms and in that of high added-value shock absorbers.

    EFFBE joins the Techné Group

    EFFBE joined the Techné Group in 2025, founded in 1981 and with over 40 years of expertise in the fields of sealing and sliding systems. Thanks to a strategy combining technical and human investments and external growth, Techné has become a trusted partner for many key players in demanding sectors, while preserving its family values. With the integration of EFFBE, the group is now organized around three divisions: sealing and sliding systems, industrial valves, and membranes and anti-vibration solutions.
